SATURDAY MORNING ‘TOONS: WALT DISNEY PRESENTS HOW TO BE A DETECTIVE (1952)

How to be a detective (3)

Assigned to locate the missing “Al” by a slinky femme fatale, gumshoe Goofy finds himself caught up in a mystery full of shady weasels, grumpy flatfoots and wild car chases in this funny film noir spoof directed by the Goof’s regular director: Jack Kinney. A particularly lively short, DETECTIVE was a pleasant departure from the series of Goofy domestic comedy send-ups that Kinney and team were producing at the time. Jack’s brother, Dick, was one of the cartoon’s writers.
