You remember when Shane Black was toxic? Crazy what a few bajillion dollars in IRON MAN 3 revenue will do for your career.

Sony announced today that they are going to drive the money truck up to Black’s house and pump some cash into his long in development DOC SAVAGE film. This is a passion project for Black and has had various people attached to it but we are finally going to see a green light for the Man of Bronze. Black will co-write and direct the film and it’s not too crazy to think that this may be an even better film than IRON MAN 3. Why? Black has the universe all to himself. Unlike IRON MAN, he has the chance to create his own world and make his own rules with a monster budget. We haven’t seen that kind of potential since LAST ACTION HERO! I kid… kind of. In the words of the great prophet Han of Corellia “Great kid! Don’t get cocky!”
