SHORT ENDS: MIIKE, CHRISTMASES, ADULT CLASSICS IN NYC AND MORE!

Here’s a round up of today’s noteworthy DG-approved links:

It’s the last day to contribute to the Kickstarter for Hal Hartley’s new film NED RIFLE.

If you’re in New York City this week, be sure to check out Anthology Film Archives’ presentation of hardcore classics curated by Casey Scott and sponsored by Distribpix Inc. and Vinegar Syndrome.  35mm prints of classics like Danny (SAVAGE STREETS) Steinmann’s HIGH RISE and Larry Revene’s WANDA WHIPS WALL STREET will be shown.  Full roster with trailers here.

Temple of Schlock’s special contributor Whitney Strub tracks down the case of the anti-porn propaganda film TARGET SMUT.  Created by the Citizens for Decent Literature (founded by financial fraudster Charles Keating) and intended as the follow-up to the infamous PERVERSION FOR PROFIT, the film was intended as an indictment of the “liberal” Supreme Court.

Amazing trailer for the Belgian L’ETRANGE COULEUR DES LARMES DE TON CORPS (THE STRANGE COLOUR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS) from the director of AMER hits the web.

…and so has a teaser for Guillermo Del Toro’s THE STRAIN.

The best audience for the trailer for Lars Von Trier’s NYMPHOMANIAC, however, may not be seated in front of FROZEN.

Takashi Miike to direct BATTLE ROYALE/HUNGER GAMES-like action flick AS GOD SAYS.

Best Documentary Oscar shortlist includes Drafthouse’s THE ACT OF KILLING, and the girl group doc 20 FEET FROM STARDOM

Cinefamily gives you 200 Christmases in 2 minutes.

Enjoy artist Mitch O’Connell’s collection of vintage photos of New York’s 42nd Street circa the late ‘80s.

ATTACK OF THE KILLER BEES is a 6 minute new short film from Joe (TERROR TOONS) Castro — watch it here.
