No, there isn’t any Survivor on the soundtrack, yes, Patrick Wayne’s acting is as wooden as the ship he is sailing on and damn, there is no Caroline Munroe to ogle at, but this is a Ray Harryhausen flick so all of the above disappointments get a pass.
The third and final flick in the special effects master’s Sinbad series is the weakest, but still a great time for the geeks that grew up watching this good shit. Features some of Ray’s more outlandish creations, including a metal minotaur, a gang of “what the hell are they” gouls and a saber-toothed tiger. This was Harryhausen’s second to last collaboration with long time producing partner Charles H. Schneer. Followed by CLASH OF THE TITANS (1981).
