HEY BASTARDS.
Here in Portland, Siskel & Ebert were on Channel 2 at 11:35pm every Sunday. Agree with them or not, they brought film conversation to the masses. Here is our weekly tribute to the two legends.

Siskel hits on the head (even if he didn’t know it at the time). Romero has publicly stated that he remade the film in order to A. Make Money B. Reclaim the rights to the story since the original fell into Public Domain and C. Make money.
The remake isn’t horrible. Savini is a decent director and there is an obvious affection for the original that is missing in many many remakes – Next time I hear some remake director say, “The original was good in it’s day BUT….” – I wanna beat them over the head with a baseball upon the utterence of the word “BUT”!!
