SPIDER BABY (1968)

THE ADDAMS FAMILY was an idea long before SPIDER BABY came onto the scene with its cast of cleverly macabre family members, but they both started production at about the same time. One took a path to television while the other took a path to grindhouse classic thanks to exploitation icon Jack Hill. Unlike THE ADDAMS FAMILY, The Merryes family had balls, big, gigantic balls; practicing murder, cannibalism, and all kinds of wacky weirdness. Though this wrapped production in 1964, it didn’t see release until 1968. Dig Lon Chaney Jr. working the vocals on the theme song.
