A brilliant scientist commits a mammoth blunder when his newly constructed teleportation gizmo swipes his molecules with a common housefly, resulting in two separate mutations. Life with a shit eating fly man isn’t exactly the type of marriage the poor bastard’s wife signed up for, thus begins a tragic series of events as the couple try to reverse the results of the accident.

Classic sci-fi/horror film still packs an emotional punch. A strong cast and some wonderfully horrific set pieces (including the infamous “Help me!” finale) help lift the flick above its absurd storyline.  Masterfully remade by David Cronenberg in 1986.
