Cannon can rarely do wrong. Even at their worst (and there was plenty of titles in that pile), they delivered brainless, and often, clothes-less action. Case in point: THE NAKED CAGE. Directed by Paul Nichols (CHAINED HEAT), this was one of the last Women in Prison films to go before the camera. THE NAKED CAGE is full of everything that made the sub-genre so popular: pissed off chicks, big guns (bother literally and figuratively), butchy wardens that more than enjoy the company of the inmates, and lots of cold showers. This ain’t the best of the bunch, it’s a long way from THE BIG DOLL HOUSE or REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS (my personal favorite), but it gets the job done.
