DRIVE was the best trailer I have seen all year until about 5 minutes ago when I saw the trailer for THE RAID which came in with guns blazing, kicked my legs out from under me, and punched me with a fistful of badass. This is some serious vintage John Woo shit. This is 100% pure action wall to fucking wall baby. I have never heard of MERENTAU, the film Gareth Evans directed before THE RAID, but it was just bumped up to priority viewing. Now, to watch this trailer another 5 times. MUST. SEE. NOW.
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,

Can’t wait! A friend of mine saw this at Midnight Madness on Thursday (during TIFF), and said it was amazing!
Please deliver the following message to your friend: YOU SUCK! I can’t wait to see this flick man, have you seen MERANTAU? If not, check it out. Not the most original film but you get a real sense of what Evans can do with a fight scene.
At least ten people on my twitter feed saw this at TIFF, and every one came away saying that it was amazing. I’ve seen MERANTAU, but this looks like it takes it to a whole different level.
