THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN COMING TO BLU-RAY

WHAT’S DOIN’, BASTARDS?

Well look at this. It isn’t even Friday and Scream Factory is dropping the goods. A quick little piece of breaking news from one of our favorite labels. We’ve known for a while that THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN was coming to DVD. there were questions however about the Blu-ray. Queue clumsy intro to a Scream Factory quote with major news courtesy of their Facebook page “We can now officially report that THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN will be coming to DVD…and Blu-ray! We are actually creating a new HD transfer of the film as we type.” Dig it!

Sundown trombone

This is a great and often overlooked film and it’s going to be cool as hell to see it with a new (and needed) trasnfer. The killer is a classic and is one of the first to wear a mask which is a burlap bag; Fuck you, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2. Unless I am forgetting something, this film features the only scene ever made of death by trombone, which is both awesome, gruesome, and creative. Director Charles B. Pierce (who started with THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK) would never make anything that came close to this film. In fact, he is probably best known for writing the Dirty Harry film SUDDEN IMPACT and coming up with the line “Go ahead, make my day.” Time to get geeked.
