Directed by Mark Nelson (NECROMANCER) and Wang Yu (not to be confused with Jimmy Wang Yu), this ass-kicking co-production is actually a pretty tough little flick. It stands as one of the better Ninja films to come out of the 80s which produced a sea of crap martial art films, usually with Caucasians trying to look as Asian as possible only to be given away by their boat shoes. This has all the staples the genre is known for which includes sword fights, Chuck connors (?), and smoke bombs (you know, for costume changes and disappearing acts). However, it also has some decent direction which manages to capture some well choreographed fight scenes. This has never had a proper DVD release but it’s worth hunting down on VHS.
