THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

FRIDAY, APRIL 14, 2017 (All show times are local)

If you watched PREVENGE and were blown away by Alice Lowe’s performance, you can catch one of her earlier, just as brilliant turns, in Ben Wheatley’s caustic relationship comedy SIGHTSEERS. It is playing at the Denver Film Society at 10:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

The Film Society of the Lincoln Center in New York continues their Robert De Niro series of films with RAGING BULL at 2:00 pm, MIDNIGHT RUN at 4:30 pm, and Sergio Leone’s director’s cut of ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA at 7:15 pm. MIDNIGHT RUN is a 35mm screening. Tickets and info can be found here.

The Amherst Cinema in Amherst, MA is showing THE 8 DIAGRAM POLE FIGHTER at 9:45 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

The Metrograph in New York is screening a 35mm print of Jean-Luc Godard’s typically Godardian sci-fi detective movie ALPHAVILLE at 11:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

The Museum of the Moving Image in New York is screening THREE, the latest crime/action film from modern master Johnnie To, at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

The Music Box Theatre in Chicago is screening a 35mm print of FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS as its midnight movie. Tickets and info can be found here.

TWO-LANE BLACKTOP, Monte Hellman’s surreal road racing film, is the midnight movie at the IFC Center in New York. Tickets and info can be found here.
