Peckinpah could pack a punch back in the day; WILD BUNCH, THE GETAWAY, STRAW DOGS, those films are all kinds of tough. After BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA though, he didn’t have much left in the tank besides a wicked drug and alcohol addiction and a nasty temper. CONVOY shows how out-of-sorts he was cinematicaly. It’s a messy story that is way too self-important. A damn good trailer though.
