[DAILY RUNDOWN] TODAY’S COOL SCREENINGS!

THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

The Metrograph in New York gets a little cheeky, showing CHINATOWN at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm and BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA at 4:45 pm and 9:30 pm. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

 

George A. Romero’s under-seen SEASON OF THE WITCH is screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco at 10:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles is doing a double feature of ’60s German proto-slasher films. THE PHANTOM OF SOHO plays at 7:30 pm and THE MAD EXECUTIONERS is at 9:35 pm. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

 

Sam Peckinpah’s classic THE WILD BUNCH is playing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas at 6:50 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Go see Paul Newman, George Kennedy, and Harry Dean Stanton in the unforgettable COOL HAND LUKE at Quad Cinema in New York at 4:30 pm. This is a 35mm screening. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Indie horror-comedy TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is pure fun. It’s screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Springfield, MO at 6:20 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
