It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

The Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco continues their Shane Black Christmas with THE LAST BOY SCOUT at 7:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

DEAD END, one of Humphrey Bogart’s best early gangster melodramas, is screening from a 35mm print at Quad Cinema in New York at 6:45 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The Senator Theatre in Baltimore is showing THE GODFATHER at 8:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Jack Deth fans rejoice! You can see the great Tim Thomerson in TRANCERS as it screens from a rare 35mm print at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin at 10:15 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The Joy Cinema and Pub in Tigard, OR is showing VOYAGE INTO SPACE at 9:15 pm. This is a free screening, but you must be over 21 to attend. All info can be found here.

 

 

THE LOST BOYS is screening from a 35mm print at the Metrograph in New York at 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Rian Johnson’s sci-fi/action favorite LOOPER is showing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Ashburn, VA at 7:20 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
