[DAILY RUNDOWN] TODAY’S COOL SCREENINGS!

THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

MONDAY, JANUARY 15, 2018 (All show times are local)

Go watch ACTION JACKSON screen from a 35mm print at the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY at 9:30 pm and then explain to me how Carl Weathers somehow didn’t get more action movie lead roles. I’m waiting for someone to make sense of that for me. Tickets and info can be found here.

The Academy Theater in Portland, OR is showing CORALINE at 11:30 am, 4:45 pm, and 9:35 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Jack Arnold’s 1955 giant spider movie TARANTULA is showing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Laredo, TX at 8:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Michael Cimino’s nearly four hour director’s cut of HEAVEN’S GATE is showing at Quad Cinema in New York at 1:00 pm. Go see the unfairly maligned movie that nearly destroyed the director’s career and give it the appreciation it deserves. Tickets and info can be found here.

Row House Cinema in Pittsburgh is screening John Waters’ POLYESTER at 1:15 pm and 5:15 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Rudy Ray Moore is the DISCO GODFATHER! Catch the new restoration screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas at 9:10 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Trylon Cinema in Minneapolis is screening the pure slapstick fun of CLUE at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
