[DAILY RUNDOWN] TODAY’S COOL SCREENINGS!

THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

Jess Franco’s trashy, but memorably sleazy take on the slasher film BLOODY MOON is showing at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco at 10:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

MOM AND DAD is the latest Nicolas Cage movie, but it’s prime Cage in a pitch black comedy with Selma Blair right there with Cage in her nutty, over-the-top performance. It’s playing at Facets Cinematheque in Chicago at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The Hollywood Theatre in Portland, OR is screening the classic SHOGUN ASSASSIN from a 35mm print at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Catch JENNIFER’S BODY when it screens from a 35mm print at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin at 9:45 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Doc Films on the University of Chicago campus continues to kill it with their programming this month. At 7:00 pm, they are screening Seijun Suzuki’s thriller EIGHT HOURS OF TERROR from a 35mm print. Tickets are $5 at the door. All info can be found here.

 

 

PARANORMAN is showing at the Academy Theater in Portland, OR at 11:35 am and 4:50 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The Belcourt Theatre in Nashville is screening CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON in 3D from a 35mm print at 9:15 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
