THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society and repertory theater.

The Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock, TX is showing LES DIABOLIQUES, Henri-Georges Clouzot’s brilliant work of suspense at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The underrated 1997 Kurt Russell thriller BREAKDOWN is showing at Doc Films on the University of Chicago campus at 7:00 pm. This is a 35mm screening. Tickets are $5 at the door. Info can be found here.

The Laurelhurst Theater and Pub in Portland, OR is showing SERENITY, Joss Whedon’s feature film follow-up to his beloved cult series Firefly at 9:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Get ready for the Denis Villeneuve-directed sequel by revisiting Ridley Scott’s stone cold classic BLADE RUNNER. The “Final Cut” of the film is screening at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago at 9:45 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
