[TRAILER DROP] ‘CHUPACABRA TERRITORY’

Like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or fireworks and alcohol, two things you’ll always find that go well together are monsters and found footage. And lo, the Chupacabra (its real terror are the constant misspellings of its name) has terrorized audiences for quite some time, even attacking our beloved Texas landmark, The Alamo (thank God, the real star of NEW YEAR’S EVIL, Erik Estrada was there to stop that one), or cruise ships (where John Rhys-Davies probably stopped it, look it up on Wikipedia for absolute certainty).

But now, here’s a film that will guarantee to frighten you audience members who long for the goat-sucker to get its true due.

Let us peer into the vast Chupacabra-laden wilderness and check out the description for CHUPACABRA TERRITORY (insert echo effect here) from writer-director, Matt McWilliams:

“Four friends hike into the Pinewood Forest to find evidence of the Chupacabra, an ancient creature believed to be responsible for the disappearance of four experienced hikers a year earlier. As they journey deeper into the forest, their innocent search uncovers more than they had ever hoped for, and with it a darkness that threatens to consume their very existence.  One by one they are hunted down, their survival tested, their lives hanging in the balance of fear, friendship, disbelief and horror.”

CHUPACABRA TERRITORY stars genre favorite Sarah Nicklin (THE HAUNTING OF ALICE D, THE SINS OF DRACULA, FLESH FOR THE INFERNO), Michael Reed (DARK FEED, EXHUMED), Megan Hensley (THE CRAZIES, FAKE THE JOY), Julianne Tura (BLOODY BLOODY BIBLE CAMP, CHASTITY BITES), and Pierre Kennel (MAN DOWN, DOONBY).”

It sounds perfectly acceptable for a night of drinking and terror for your typical media consumer. It’ll first be available on April 11th on Flixfling (which per my notes here, isn’t the cable channel where I watched THE HEAVENLY KID and DISORDERLIES way more than I should have), which is in fact, a thing, and will be there as a 30-day exclusive. The film will then launch on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video and Cable VOD platforms.

If you’re so inclined, you can also pre-order the Blu-ray and DVD (complete with some sweet cover art) release of CHUPACABRA TERRITORY on Amazon. Said Blu-Ray/DVD will include exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, trailers and more. So go and buy it, or rent it, or don’t … I’m not your mother.
