Live in Tampa Bay and want to take in some good old fashioned sleaze culture? Tampa Bay Screams is the place to be on August 27th. Hosted by the fine folks at GRINDHOUSE VIDEO and GATORBLADE FILMS, TAMPA BAY SCREAMS offers a variety of guests and events to satisfy the needs of all those that attend from the newcomer to the wondrously grimy world of grindhouse cinema to even the most discerning of appreciators of the art of B-movies.
Meet and get an autograph from FRANKENHOOKER herself, Patty Mullen, and SPLATTER UNIVERSITY’S Forbes Riley, bring back those late-night memories of staying up to watch USA UP ALL NIGHT, meeting hostess Rhonda Shear. Even meet “The Prince of Gore” Todd Sheets, director and writer of low budget/high ambition classics ZOMBIE BLOODBATH and ZOMBIE BLOOD BATH II: RAGE OF THE UNDEAD!
Events don’t end there either, as Tampa Bay Screams hosts a VHS/DVD/BLU-RAY swap meet where you and fellow movie fans can talk film, trade and seek out what just might be missing from your collection. Easily one of the best things about Tampa Bay Screams, though, is that it allows the local talent of comic artists and creators to get their works out there for you to see and support, to help breathe even more life into Tampa Bay’s growing community of horror fanatics and creators as well.
Just in case all that wasn’t enough for you and you wanted something a bit more visual, take in the trailer for the event, which manages to cram so much in the ways of girls and gore into a scant 30-some seconds that you’ll find yourself watching it over and over again, just so you can figure out what you saw — or you can just come to Tampa Bay Screams and experience it for yourself!
Tampa Bay Screams happens on August 27th, and tickets can be bought online for $7 or at the door for $10.
