DIRECTOR/CINEMATOGRAPHER MAC AHLBERG PASSES AWAY

 

HEY BASTARDS.

 

Mac Ahlberg, the Swedish cinematographer for a number of productions from Charles Band and Stuart Gordon, died at the age of 81 on Oct. 26 of complications from congestive heart failure in Cupra Maritima, Italy. His works as a cinematographer included the classic RE-ANIMATOR along with noteworthy films such as John Landis’ INNOCENT BLOOD, Sean Cunningham’s DEEPSTAR SIX and Stuart Gordon’s DOLLS. He also worked on CHAINED HEAT, HELL NIGHT, HOUSE, PRISON and TRANCERS.
 

 
Before moving entirely into cinematography, he had directed the I, A WOMAN trilogy, distributed by Radley Metzger’s Audobon films. Essy Person starred in the first film, the trailer for which is visible below.
