This is the kind of news I enjoy sharing.
LOWLIFE was one of the best films I saw this year at Cinepocalypse. A mix of crime drama, comedy, honest emotion, and ultra-violence, it struck me as too tonally odd to ever get decent distribution. But sometimes the movie gods shine down on a deserving film. IFC Midnight has picked up LOWLIFE for distribution and—according to Deadline—plans to actually release it in theaters in March of 2018. If you haven’t been lucky enough to catch it on the festival circuit, put this one on your calendar. It is a blast of fresh air.
