GOD TOLD ME TO (1976)

BONE demonstrated his chops as a writer and director, BLACK CAESAR gave him the king of blaxploitation crown, and IT’S ALIVE showed you what he could do with a new-born hellspawn, but it was GOD TOLD ME TO that gave you Larry Cohen doubling down on the crazy and demented. This is a incredible piece of filmmaking that quickly found an adoring cult audience that respect its go for broke terror and carefully constructed characters. Cohen has a lot of great films to his credit, but this is one of the best. It stars Tony LoBianco, Deborah Raffin, and Richard Lynch, but keep your eyes peeled for Andy Kaufman as a killer cop.

SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
