LEE VAN CLEEF CLASSIC THE GRAND DUEL (1972) COMING TO DVD FROM BLUE UNDERGROUND

WHAT’S DOIN’, BASTARDS?

It was just a few weeks ago that I watched the Lee Van Cleef classic DAY OF ANGER, this videotape was faded and the autotracking turned on a few times but what I saw was a man who could command the thinnest of plots. There is a real menace to every character he plays, bad or good. While it’s his work with Leone that gets a lot of notice, it’s always been his other films that have been better showcases. Today we got word from Blue Underground that one of those showcases is coming to DVD with the touches that Lustig’s label is known for. GRAND DUEL is going to be hitting shelves on May 21st with a brand new High Definition transfer from the original camera negative. Special features include:

• Audio Commentary with Journalists C. Courtney Joyner and Henry Parke
• Theatrical Trailer
• Spaghetti Western Trailer Reel

This film came out just before MEAN FRANK AND CRAZY TONY, another classic you should check out. You can find it on VHS as part of Sybil Danning’s Adventure Video. We’ll let you know when the pre-orders open for GRAND DUEL.

LOCKED AND LOADED,

MR. SIX
