MEGAFORCE (1982)

Fun fact: Between 1979 and 1982, actor Michael Beck was prominently featured in THE WARRIORS, XANADU, and MEGAFORCE! If that doesn’t earn him a Lifetime Achievement Award, the Academy can go fuck themselves.

MEGAFORCE is about an “elite” unit of specialized soldiers who never back down from a fight, dress like morons, and shoot multicolored smoke from the back of their flying motorcycles.

Barry Bostwick (“Brad” from ROCKY HORROR) plays Commander Ace Hunter, a smug Kenny Loggins lookalike and rugged leader of this ragtag band of misfit toys.

Highlights include the aforementioned flying motorcycle, overenthusiastic camaraderie, shooting beach balls in the desert, bad montage rock, inept banter between the hero and the villain, and mega-macho posturing despite wearing skintight pleather and a bandana.

Pull your thumb out of your ass, give it a kiss, and check out MEGAFORCE!

RECOMMENDED!
