This isn’t the kind of scabby little bit we traditionally dump on a site like ours, but any project involving Christopher Guest and his troupe of actors (including a few new additions) demands our attention. The new trailer for Guest’s new television project for HBO, FAMILY TREE, has a brand spankin’ new trailer. It gives you a quick outline of the basic premise and introduces you to a few key players. There are only a handful of filmmakers that automatically make me laugh before I have seen a single frame of film, and Guest is one of them. I guess it’s just the anticipation of perfectly timed comedy that causes me to laugh early, a way to release the tension. Kind of like when I shit my pants just before a meal to big for stomach… kind of.
