NEW TRAILER FOR LEE SANG-IL’S UNFORGIVEN REMAKE STARRING KEN WATANABE

WHAT’S DOIN’, BASTARDS?

It isn’t scheduled for release until the Fall of 2013 but the Twitch crew has in their hands the trailer for Lee Sang-il’s UNFORGIVEN (Yurusarezaru mono) remake starring Ken Watanabe. First impressions? THIS is how you do a remake. Take the idea of the original film and remake it into something unique. Yet, to quote Luke Skywalker, “there’s something familiar about this place.” The characters, visually at least, have remarkable nods to their American counter-parts which I dig the hell out of. It all looks damn purty. Not sure what you Bastards think, but this is near the top of my most anticipated films of 2013 list.

Ken Watanabe plays a samurai with a fearsome reputation as a swordsman who is living in retirement with his Ainu wife when poverty and a large bounty tempt him into action again. The film also stars Kunimura Jun, Yagira Yuya, Sato Koichi, Emoto Akira, Koike Eiko and Kutsuna Shioli.

LOCKED AND LOADED,

MR. SIX
