Man-eating plants, one-eyed blobs and a giant spider-crab-rat thing that ended up on the cover of a Misfits album threaten a band of space adventurers as they explore Earth’s nearest neighbor. If the lackluster acting and clunky special effects don’t give you a headache, then you can count on the blinding visuals created through red filters and something called Cinemagic to do the trick. Producer Norman Maurer, Moe Howard’s son in-law, would repeat some of the same production techniques in THE THREE STOOGES IN ORBIT. Here’s to hoping his father in-law gave him an eye-poke.
