An ever growing piece of snot from outer space invades a small town and creates hell for some local yokels as it digests every poor chump that comes within range of its gooey grasp. It’s up to bad boy Kevin Dillon and teen queen Shawnee Smith to save the day in this suprisingly effective update of the 1958 camp classic. Director Chuck Russell stages some effective shock and death scenes, particularly in a scene where a poor bastard is pulled down into the drain of a sink by The Blob.  Good stuff, well worth checking out for monster fans.
