Captain Sinbad (John Phillip Law) and a crew of rock star looking shipmates battle the evil wizard Koura (Tom Baker) in a quest for a fountain of destiny and its untold riches. Amazing Ray Harryhausen mythical monsters and a tribe of savage green men stand in their way, but it’s the amazing ta tas of Caroline Munro that prove to be the biggest distraction…at least to this viewer.
Solid follow-up to THE SEVENTH VOYAGE OF SINBAD is one of Harryhausen’s better later efforts, with Baker particularly good as the baddie. The Kali battle is a highlight, ranking as one of Ray’s best sequences.
