TRUCK TURNER (1974)

Yaphet Kotto is a mean looking dude and anytime he is in a flick, the film benefits. You add Isaac Hayes to the mix and Nichelle Nichols (Uhura from Star Trek) and you have some geek crack. This is a cool Blaxploitation film that was originally intended for Robert Mitchum. After Mitchum walked they lined up James Coburn who also took a hike. Shortly after this flick was re-tooled and went the urban route and we ended up with a classic directed by the incomparable Jonathan Kaplan (THE SLAMS, WHITE LINE FEVER). Dig it!
