I like to keep a series record for Charlie Rose just so that when I have guests over I can show them what an asshole I am. Every once in a while you can catch a filmmaker or actor on the show for an entire hour talking about their craft (showing the world what an asshole they are) and sometimes, just sometimes, the show can be touching. Rose recently devoted some time on his program to the late Roger Ebert who passed nearly two weeks ago. I don’t want to seem like an asshole, I usually save that for when guests come over to my house, but man it feels like he passed away just yesterday. The tribute includes Werner Herzog (who Ebert considered a friend), fellow critic A.O. Scott, and Dana Stevens. Have a watch, and don’t be an asshole.
