THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2017 (All show times are local)
PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET, one of my favorite films of all time and one of Sam Fuller’s greatest achievements, is screening from a 35mm print at the Metrograph in New York at 1:00 pm, 3:30 pm, and 9:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
A classic and current Stephen King double feature is happening at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. At 7:00 pm, you can see STAND BY ME and at 8:45 pm, catch the new, 2017 screen version of IT. Tickets and info can be found here.
The great Wings Hauser directs and stars in the semi-forgotten crime/horror flick THE ART OF DYING at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn at 9:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
If you know of an under-the-radar theater or film society regularly putting together repertory screenings or special events, feel free to let me know on Twitter!
