This isn’t going to be a long article because I want you to get right over to what you clicked on it for — John Carpenter, with his regular musical collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, has composed the score to the upcoming HALLOWEEN film, and the first track landed on the internet this morning, courtesy of Sacred Bones Records.
Quick first impressions: Obviously, I love it. It’s composed in a way that brings me right back in mind of the original film that I know by heart (like you do, I’m sure) , while also deepening in a way that both echoes the HALLOWEEN II theme and recalls Carpenter’s more recent musical adventuring. It’s really perfect.
The score will be released on October 19th, the same day as the film arrives in theaters.
