THE APPLE (1980)

Catherine Mary Stewart went on to be a genre fave in films like NIGHT OF THE COMET, THE LAST STARFIGHTER and NIGHTFLYERS, but her first film is something that must be seen by any self-respecting cult film addict. A disco/glam/new wave futuristic musical about a society that seems to be under the control of an outrageous musical mogul, and the circumstances that separate and then unite a couple in a Carpenters-esque pop duo, it’s an unstoppably weird experience that could only be made with the utmost sincerity from director Menahem Golan and writer Coby Recht.

Keep the Popcorn buttered and burnt,
