It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, and repertory theaters.

If you know our fearless Editor-in-Chief, I would never get away with ignoring a 35mm screening of a Burt Reynolds film. Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY is showing THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

DAILY GRINDHOUSE contributor Mac Bell puts on a monthly screening of great B-movies called the Greeley Grindhouse. This month’s screening is WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH. You can see it tonight at the Greeley Bar and Grill in Portland, OR at 7:20 pm and get a chance to win a cool poster for the screening. All info can be found here.

 

 

Did you know that Larry Hagman directed one movie in his career? Did you know that movie was a sequel to THE BLOB? You can catch SON OF BLOB at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco at 10:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles presents the double feature of Sam Peckinpah’s surprisingly funny western THE BALLAD OF CABLE HOGUE at 7:30 pm and the unconventional Charles Bronson pseudo-comedy FROM NOON TILL THREE at 10:00 pm. Both films are being projected from 35mm prints. This double feature will also run tomorrow evening at the same times. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

 

The Alamo Drafthouse in Omaha, NE is showing WE ARE THE BEST!, Lukas Moodysson’s delightful story of a trio of thirteen-year-old girls who form a punk band in ’80s Stockholm. The screening is scheduled for 6:45 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The IFC Center in New York is continuing their David Lynch series. Today’s showings include ERASERHEAD at 2:00 pm and INLAND EMPIRE at 10:40 am, 4:10 pm, and 7:45 pm. ERASERHEAD is showing from a DCP of the new 4K restoration while INLAND EMPIRE is a 35mm print. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

 

Blaxploitation favorite CLEOPATRA JONES is playing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn at 9:30 pm. This screening is from a 35mm print. Tickets and info can be found here.
