One week from today, John Carpenter’s first album of original instrumental music, Lost Themes, will be available for purchase, courtesy of Sacred Bones Records. You can stream it now over at NPR’s website. Or you can cue up “Vortex” or “Night” right now, as you read the rest of this article!
The BAM retrospective entitled John Carpenter: Master of Fear will begin on February 5th, in conjunction with the album release. John Carpenter himself will appear for a conversation about his life and work. In the days that follow, all of his feature films will be screened, as will a handful of films which John Carpenter selected as examples of scores which influenced his own compositions.
This is what the French call a “can’t miss” event.
