THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

THE PRODIGAL PLANET, the final film in Donald W. Thompson’s apocalyptic Christian scare film series, is showing at midnight at the Spectacle Theatre in Brooklyn. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The sleazy schlock of early ’80s grindhouse slasher favorite PIECES is showing at Film Bar in Phoenix at 10:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

If that’s not enough sleaze for you, catch 1978’s THE TOOLBOX MURDERS at the Museum of Modern Art (!) in New York at 4:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The Siskel Film Center in Chicago is screening Anna Biller’s recent cult favorite THE LOVE WITCH from a 35mm print at 2:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The double feature of TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE and TWO EVIL EYES is showing at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, NY at 10:00 pm. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

 

Offbeat, bloody cannibal tale RAVENOUS is screening from a 35mm print at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, MA at midnight. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The Trylon Cinema in Minneapolis is doing a double feature of two of Nicolas Cage’s best films with WILD AT HEART showing at 7:00 pm and RAISING ARIZONA at 9:30 pm. Both films are screening from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.
